Workshop: "Magic of Form – ceramic slip casting" July 8th, 4-7 PM

Who is it for?

For people who want to create their own ceramic vessels with beautiful, harmonious shapes. This is an ideal offer for those who are discouraged by hand-modeling and uneven cups, but at the same time want to learn the fascinating technique of ceramic casting.

What will we be doing?

During the 3-hour workshop, you will learn the process of ceramic casting in plaster molds.

A variety of molds will be available:

• cups,
• teacups,
• bowls,
• piggy banks,
• elephant figurines,
• and molds with decorative, intricate handles.

You will learn to:

• prepare slip,
• cast vessels in plaster molds,
• control wall thickness,
• remove the casting from the mold,
• process and finish raw ceramics.

Color and fun with slip

Additionally, we will play with ceramic pigments.

You will be able to:

• color the slip,
• create marble effects,
• mix colors,
• achieve unique patterns already in the structure of the porcelain or clay itself.

Each piece will be one of a kind.

What happens after the workshop?

After the workshop, the works will remain in the studio to dry and be bisque fired.

Then you can choose to finish your ceramics with:

• transparent glaze,
• colored glazes,
• transparent glaze and underglaze paints,
• or decorative glazes only.

Cost of further processing and firing:

PLN 147/kg of finished work.

You can also come back for another glazing session and personally give your works their final character.

Duration

⏳ 3 hours

• groups are intimate (4–6 people),
• the price includes slip, pigments, and the first bisque firing,
• participants leave with 3 finished castings.
